The Gran Telescopio de Canarias (GTC) has recently added three new instruments to the already available instrumental offer. With a plethora of six optical and near‐infrared instruments operating over the past few years, astronomers from the three GTC communities, as well as others, are now materializing exciting science results out of GTC data. The main aim of this VI meeting on "Science with the GTC" is for participants to share their latest, interesting results, learn about GTC operations and the next generation instrumental proposals, encourage current collaborations and promote new collaborations between our GTC communities.
The VI meeting on "Science with GTC" will take place in Valencia, Spain, from the 12th to the 14th of December, 2018.
The meeting will include two and a half days of both oral and poster presentations from the GTC community, and half a day of parallel splinter sessions intended for groups meetings. Astronomers from outside the GTC community are also welcome to participate.
Abstracts of talks and posters are due by September 3, 2018. Whether an abstract is given as a talk or a poster will be determined by the Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC).
Abstracts of splinter sessions are due by June 20th, 2018. Splinters of 1.5 h or 3 h can be accommodated. Please, indicate the duration of your splinter session when submitting the corresponding abstract. The SOC will determine what splinters are approved depending on the number of requests and the availability of meeting rooms in the meeting venue.
NEW-Notification of acceptance of abstracts and posters: October 1st, 2018
