Stellar core collapse with neutrinos and magnetic fields
Speaker: Martin Obergaulinger, Universitat de València

Authors: Martin Obergaulinger, Thomas Janka

Using a new code for neutrino transport, we have simulated the collapse of magnetised stellar cores. We found that in the absence of rotation the seed field can be amplified mostly by compression and non-spherical hydrodynamic instabilities, and that strong initial fields modify the evolution of the these instabilities, potentially altering the conditions for shock revival.
