Excision technique in constrained formulations of Einstein equations
Speaker: Isabel Cordero-Carrión, Laboratoire Univers et Théories (LUTH), Postdoctoral researcher

Authors: Isabel Cordero-Carrión, Nicolas Vasset, Jérôme Novak and Pedro Montero

In order to deal with black holes in numerical simulations in General Relativity, some methods are used to avoid including the physical singularity in the numerical domain. The puncture method and the excision technique have been used in the case of hyperbolic formulations like the BSSN and the GHG formualtions. In this talk, I will comment about recent developments of the excision technique in the case of constrained formulations in which special care has to be taken into account in the resolution of elliptic equations with consistent boundary conditions at the excised surface.
