“Cryptogams: Biodiversity, Conservation and Interactions"

Dear colleagues and friends

We are very pleased to welcome you to the XXIII International Symposium of Cryptogamic Botany which, finally and after having to be postponed in June 2021 due to Covid, will be held next summer 2022. For this occasion, we have chosen the special setting of the historic center of the Mediterranean city of Valencia, Spain, for its celebration.

With the Symposium theme "Cryptogams: Biodiversity, Conservation and Interactions" the purpose of this event is to offer lecturers, researchers, stakeholders and students, the opportunity to disseminate recent research results in the different fields of Cryptogamy (Bryology, Phycology, Lichenology, Mycology and Pteridology), and at the same time to establish new networks of scientific exchange and collaboration.

The Symposium is framed within the general context of global change and its social challenges. Its thematic priorities will cover the protection of biodiversity in all its aspects, the sustainable management of water and the fight against climate change. The sessions will be structured around cross-cutting issues such as systematics and evolution, biology of symbiosis, biodiversity studies, biogeography, ecology, conservation, global change, physiology, etc.

In addition to the scientific program, we hope that you will find time to visit and enjoy the rich artistic heritage of the city, its gastronomy, its beaches and the nearby Natural Parks.

Please save the date 20-23 July 2022
We are waiting for you in VALENCIA, SPAIN!
